Well…. I don’t have to write much in this post. If you want to make a living doing music, sooner or later you have to figure out how to make a living
as a musician. This often creates many conflicts for classical performers between what feels artistically authentic and what actually makes you money.
One person who has been a big help for me on my own path to solving this riddle is Yale faculty member Astrid Baumgardner.
As a former lawyer and classical pianist she really knows what musicians goes through, and also thinks in a very strategic/analytical way that often times artists do not.
